Quite simply - Always -Always - Always Set Reasonable Goals! A
Reasonable Goal is different from a Low Goal. It is important that you
learn the difference if you expect to maximize your fundraising
success. Good Goal Setting is one of several critical factors in
achieving top fundraising revenue. The Fundraising Designer 3 Hours To Fundraising Success Group It is easy to set a goal but an INEFFECTIVE goal will lead to mediocre fundraising results! Be sensitive in the research and setting of your goals. Do not throw a dart at a board of numbers. Plan your fundraising success goals carefully to achieve the best possible results for everyone in your group. You need to set a Group Goal as well as each member should also set a Personal Goal. LET'S SET THE GROUP GOAL!You want to set a goal that makes your group stretch a little, but not be so far 'out there' that the goal is not obtainable. A ridiculously high goal will only discourage your members from the start. But neither should you set a goal that is so low, they don't try! If your goal is too low, some members will tend to goof off. The goal may be so ridiculously low that many members will assume others can reach that goal by themselves and opt to sit this project out. A goal that is 'too low' will poison your overall fundraising success. You want your goal to be high enough, but still reasonable, so that the group will realize EVERYONE NEEDS TO DO THEIR PART! That's right, to reach the goal, every member of the group will need to put forth a GOOD EFFORT! This one step alone encourages teamwork, cooperation, friendly competition and the mutual encouragement that will bring you the highest fundraising success possible for that particular project. A reasonable goal always encourages ENERGY, EXCITEMENT and ENTHUSIASM! Next time, we'll talk about settting those all-empowering Personal Goals! Wishing you Ultimate Fundraising Success!
